Private Samuel Hutchinson

 

The background of this North Irish Horseman is not known at present.

Samuel Hutchinson enlisted in the North Irish Horse between 17 January and 11 February 1911 (No.574 – later Corps of Hussars No.71041).

He embarked for France with A Squadron on 17 August 1914, seeing action on the retreat from Mons and advance to the Aisne.

Hutchinson remained with the regiment throughout the war. He was transferred to Class Z, Army Reserve, on 7 March 1919.
